Since its inception in 2015, Clear The Shelters has facilitated over 1.3 million pet adoptions and raised more than $5.6 million for animal shelters. Bruce Kallner, SVP of Business Development at NBCUniversal Local, expressed gratitude for Hill’s contribution, stating it has been pivotal in supporting pets in need and the shelters that care for them.

The 2026 campaign will see Hill’s Pet Nutrition support activities across the country, helping shelters connect pets with potential adopters. Included in Hill’s support will be the distribution of adoption kits at select shelters, which will contain starter bags of Hill’s Science Diet, coupons, and other resources designed to aid new pet parents in giving their adopted pets a healthy start.

Carrick Massey, Senior VP of U.S. Marketing at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, emphasized the importance of programs like Clear The Shelters in supporting overburdened animal shelters, stating that Hill's has proudly supported the campaign's mission to help pets find loving homes for nine years.

In alignment with its mission, Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program continues to assist shelter pets by providing nutrition and resources year-round, having supplied more than $300 million in food to shelters and aiding over 16 million pets in finding homes.

This August, NBC and Telemundo stations will promote Clear The Shelters alongside local animal shelters and rescues, aiming to raise awareness and funds for animal welfare operations. Last year, the campaign resulted in over 160,000 pets finding homes and raised more than $628,000 for shelters, marking the highest total since 2020.

Animal shelters interested in participating in this year’s Clear The Shelters can register through the new Shelter Registration Portal. More details about the campaign and participating shelters can be found at ClearTheShelters.com.
