Rescue Dog Wines has announced the expansion of its award-winning wine brand into Idaho and Colorado through select Albertson's locations. Founded in 2017 by Georgia natives Blair and Laura Lott, the brand focuses on creating sustainable, food-friendly wines while supporting the rehoming of shelter dogs. This expansion is made possible through a national distribution partnership with ZONIN1821, a prominent importer of Italian wines, which will include Rescue Dog Wines in its portfolio alongside Johnson Brothers Maverick of Colorado Distribution and Idaho Wine Merchant.

As part of this launch, the winery's Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay will be available in select stores. The Chardonnay is noted for its stainless-steel fermentation and features stone fruit notes and refreshing acidity, while the Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from over 25-year-old vines, is described as velvety with flavors of plum, blueberry, vanilla, and chocolate.
Blair Lott stated, "Idaho and Colorado are two of the most dog-friendly states in the country... Launching with Albertsons is a natural fit. Pet owners already shop there for food and treats, so we get to meet wine lovers and dog lovers right where they are."
Since its inception, Rescue Dog Wines has committed to donating 50% of its profits to various rescue organizations across the United States, totaling over $150,000 to more than 200 partners. The brand aims to increase its presence in dog-friendly bars, restaurants, and hotels in these new markets. The full portfolio available in both states includes a 2024 Chardonnay, 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, 2024 Rosé, 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2023 Red Blend, all crafted with a focus on sustainability by winemaker Susy Vasquez.
