A Cincinnati foster kitten named Gelato has captured attention online due to his unique mobility solution. Cincinnati Animal CARE shared a photo of Gelato on Facebook, showcasing a custom-made wheelchair created by the shelter's lead veterinary technician, Mallory Smith.

When Gelato first arrived at the shelter, he was unable to stand or walk and was too small for any available wheelchairs. Smith ingeniously used cardboard, rulers, Hot Wheels, and tape to construct a wheelchair tailored for him.
According to a recent update from the shelter, Gelato is making progress in his recovery, growing stronger each day and even beginning to stand briefly on his own. "Every tiny step is a huge victory, and we're so excited to watch him continue on this journey," the shelter stated. Gelato is currently in foster care with Smith as he continues his rehabilitation.
