Lotus is the Pet of the Week available for adoption at the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga (HES). This four-year-old female cat weighs approximately 10 pounds. Previously named Eight Ball, she returned to the shelter because her last adopters reported that their other cat bullied her.

HES staff describe Lotus as timid and jumpy but also affectionate and loving. She is sociable and seeks out attention, often enjoying lap sitting, cuddling, and sleeping next to her adopters. Lotus is noted for her sweet meow and loves catnip, chasing bugs, and looking out windows.
Currently, Lotus is frightened of other cats but does appreciate the company of dogs. Staff members indicate that she may be apprehensive in the shelter environment and might not display her true personality during initial visits.
