Organizer Steven Parise noted that the event began in 2019, with attendance and adoptions increasing over the years. Hosting the event in front of Petco attracts animal lovers who are already shopping there. Parise expressed enthusiasm about the community's support for the cause, emphasizing the essential work of local organizations.

This fundraiser stands out as one of the significant annual events for Community Paws. Proceeds from a silent auction and raffles go towards stocking a pet food pantry, supporting a wellness clinic, and assisting pets of domestic abuse survivors in transition. Parise reported a substantial increase in the need for the pet food pantry, calling for donations of dry dog and cat food.

Several local rescues, including Lucky 7 Dog Rescue, also participated in the event. This organization is completely foster and volunteer-run. Olivia Biskobing from Lucky 7 emphasized the ongoing need for fosters and volunteers, particularly as they partner with overcrowded shelters in the south. She highlighted the importance of community engagement in supporting rescue efforts.

Biskobing appreciated the opportunity for the rescue community to connect with local supporters and showcase animals needing homes. For those unable to attend the event, organizers encouraged following local rescues on social media to remain informed about their ongoing needs.
