Frito is a 10-month-old pit bull mix currently up for adoption after spending 53 days in the shelter. He was transferred from a rural shelter where he faced the risk of euthanasia. The shelter staff selected him to highlight his personality and appeal to potential adopters.
Described by his foster as a family-friendly puppy, Frito quickly settled into home life, displaying a knack for adjusting. His foster reported that he was comfortable riding in cars, watching TV, and blending in with other pets within just a day of being in their home.
The foster noted that Frito is very close to being fully potty-trained and is tolerant of being kenneled for four to six hours. He enjoys cuddles, is good on a leash, and is generally well-mannered, though he may benefit from some additional training.
Frito’s friendly demeanor makes him compatible with children, cats, and other dogs. His adoption fee is set at $150, and interested individuals can contact the shelter at 785-843-6835 or email at [email protected] to arrange a meeting.
In related news, Lulu, another formerly featured pet, has been returned to the shelter and is looking for a new home, while Chip and Bailey, past Pets of the Week, have found their forever families.
