Billy Merchant-Devitt, founder of the Rochester-based charity, stated that they are taking a gradual approach to restore the cats to health. When found on Saturday, the property had the heating set to maximum and the bathroom door closed, which prevented the cats from accessing water.

The rescue organization noted that the cats, while "incredibly sweet," were understandably terrified and withdrawn. Unfortunately, some kittens discovered at the site did not survive. Merchant-Devitt expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community in response to the charity's social media appeal following the rescue.
