A kitten in Clark County was rescued after being impaled by a thick piece of iron from a plant stand. The incident took place recently, with the kitten arriving at Veterinary Emergency + Critical Care on a Thursday. The iron piece was lodged through the kitten's mouth, with the plant stand still attached.

The clinic praised the efforts of the Clark County Fire Department for their assistance in safely cutting and removing the metal. Captain Barlow, Engineer Davies, Firefighter Klein, and Firefighter Corbridge played key roles in the rescue, alongside 311 operator Savannah.
The removal procedure was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Strader, Dr. Fauth, Dr. Quellhorst, and anesthesiologist Dr. Congdon. Once the metal was extracted, the surgeon, Dr. Hunter, immediately treated the wound. Thankfully, no bones were broken. The kitten is in recovery and was discharged from the hospital the same day.
