The planned Cat Lifesaving & Adoption Center will complement the operations of Mobile Animal Services, which is relocating to a new facility in May 2027. The center will specifically focus on cat adoption services in Mobile.
FOMAS announced that the new facility will be funded through private donations, fundraising, grants, and community support. According to FOMAS, the center will allow for an expansion beyond traditional adoption services. Plans include increasing community spay and neuter assistance for both cats and dogs, enhancing the transport network for animals needing placement outside the Mobile area, and creating more opportunities for cats to find adoptive homes.
FOMAS representatives emphasized that the center will enhance local animal welfare resources and support the services provided by Mobile Animal Services. Community members interested in supporting the project can contribute through the FOMAS Kitty City campaign.
