The recalled dog food was manufactured on January 27, 2026, and bears the Item/SKU F-WOOFC-6 and lot number BB012729. The product comes in a gusseted stand-up pouch containing 12 individually wrapped, vacuum-sealed 8 oz portions, and was distributed through retail and wholesale accounts, as well as directly to consumers via online orders.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the contamination may pose health risks to both pets and humans. Symptoms of salmonella infection in pets include lethargy, diarrhea (which may be bloody), fever, and vomiting. In humans, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal cramping, and fever.
Oma's Pride stated, "We take this finding seriously, and that commitment to food safety is why we are voluntarily recalling this lot." The company is conducting an investigation to determine how the contamination occurred.
Customers who have purchased the affected dog food are advised to stop feeding it to their pets immediately and to dispose of it safely.
