The program takes place on the first Sunday of each month, from 8 to 10 a.m., allowing volunteers to take shelter dogs outside for exercise and companionship. Alexis Escobar-Paz, a marketing program assistant with Fort Bliss MWR, highlighted the benefits of the event during an interview.

Although BOSS primarily supports single soldiers, the opportunity to volunteer is also extended to the broader community. Participants can earn volunteer hours for their involvement.

Escobar-Paz expressed a personal connection to the program, sharing that she adopted her German shepherd, Raven, from El Paso Animal Services after meeting her at the shelter.

Individuals interested in volunteering can find more information and register through the Fort Bliss MWR website.
