October Activities Support Animal Rescue Efforts in Lagos

On Saturday, October 10, Carlos Filipe will present his new book, (Im)Perfect Friends, which features Sandy, a street cat from Lagos who sadly passed away shortly after the cover photograph was taken.

The Armazém Regimental has been central to various activities this month, combining art, crafts, books, and animal welfare, and will remain open until October 14. Visitors can purchase the 2027 calendar to further support these efforts.

Another supportive event is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, when Harmony Yoga with Nadine will host a puppy yoga session. More details are available on In Harmony Lagos’s social media pages.

Additionally, volunteers have been actively involved in a recent Banco Solidário Animal collection at Continente supermarkets in Lagos and Odiáxere. Approximately 30 volunteers participated, collecting vital supplies for the shelter's dogs and cats.

The campaign successfully gathered 1,634 kg of dog food, 595 kg of cat food, and 258 kg of cat litter, which will significantly aid the shelter's daily operations. The organizers and volunteers were acknowledged for their efforts, along with a special thanks to Animalife and the SONAE/Continente group for their support in making the initiative possible.

With more events planned throughout the month, there are numerous ways for the community to support local animal rescue, whether through attending events, purchasing calendars, participating in fundraising, or sharing information about the cause.
