KC Pet Project is currently facing critical overcrowding, housing 254 dogs while only having two available kennels. From Sunday to Thursday, the shelter received 93 dogs but only adopted out 40. To address this issue, KCPP is waiving adoption fees for dogs weighing 40 pounds or more until Sunday. This initiative is supported by Hill's Pet Nutrition. Adopters will receive a kit that includes food, toys, and other essentials. Those interested can view available dogs on the KCPP website. Additionally, the shelter encourages fostering as another way to assist in alleviating overcrowding.
