A team from BVSPCA traveled to Texas to assist at the Dogtown Ranch site, where they assessed the dogs and transported them to a temporary shelter for ongoing care. Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore expressed appreciation for BVSPCA's collaboration, stating that their office will continue to oversee conditions at Dogtown Ranch and Sanctuary and will act on any credible reports of animal cruelty.

During the operation, BVSPCA discovered one dog that was severely underweight and nearly unresponsive. The organization quickly took the dog to an emergency veterinary clinic for urgent care. He noted the successful negotiation of a voluntary surrender which allowed the rescue to proceed.

BVSPCA highlighted that this rescue effort supplements their ongoing work in animal care and is currently seeking donations for the medical treatment, transportation, and daily needs of these dogs and other animals in their care.
