The shelter has numerous cats in need of homes, all of which come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated according to their age. Adoption fees have been reduced to $35 each. The center encourages adopting pairs of cats, suggesting that having two pets not only brings double the joy but also ensures that each cat has a companion, helping to reduce stress and loneliness.
For more information, potential adopters can visit the Sangamon County Animal Control & Adoption Center located at 2100 Shale Street, Springfield, IL, or contact them at (217) 535-3065 or via email at [email protected]. The center's hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 4:15 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. Additional details on adoption and volunteer opportunities are available at www.meowmobile.org.
