Families interested in adopting a new pet can do so at no cost this Friday and Saturday at Craven-Pamlico Animal Services in New Bern, N.C. The adoption event, sponsored by the ASPCA, will also provide vaccinations and spay or neuter services for the animals adopted during this time.

The shelter will be open for adoptions from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, and from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 26.
