VMD Sciences (VMDS) introduced VMD Access International during the 51st WSAVA World Congress, held from October 13 to 15, 2026, in Warsaw, Poland. This new global access portal aims to assist veterinarians in obtaining animal health products through established international export pathways.

The platform emphasizes that geographic location should not impede animals from receiving necessary treatments. VMD Access International offers veterinary professionals a centralized resource to explore over 3,000 available products from export pharmacies in the United States and worldwide, catering to diverse treatment needs for companion animals, livestock, equine, and exotic species.

VMD Access International ensures compliance with essential medicine frameworks set by organizations such as the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), and the World Veterinary Association (WVA), which collectively represent over half a million veterinarians across more than 180 countries. The Essential Medicines Lists developed by these organizations identify core drugs necessary for delivering fundamental veterinary care and addressing disparities in treatment access.

Wendy Vaala, Chief Veterinary Officer, stated that improving access to existing treatments is crucial for advancing veterinary medicine. She emphasized that this platform enhances global connectivity and transparency regarding treatment access options.

While the portal addresses treatment access challenges, it does not guarantee product availability or eligibility for import. It serves as a resource to help veterinary professionals explore potential treatment options and compliant pathways.

Starting October 13, licensed veterinarians and pharmacists can request an account on VMD Access International, although product availability and export eligibility depend on specific products and destinations. All requests will be evaluated according to U.S. export laws and destination country regulations.

Attendees at the WSAVA World Congress can find VMD Sciences at booth #152 in Hall 4 to learn more about VMD Access International and other services. Both CEO and Founder, Jeff Oliva, and Veterinary Innovations Specialist, Kamryn Shaughnessy, M.S., will be present.

VMD Sciences is dedicated to helping veterinarians access innovative treatments through established regulatory frameworks, focusing on making the regulatory processes efficient to ensure high-quality care for animals.
