The initiative targets the urgent needs of community animals, including street dogs, cats, abandoned livestock, and working animals like horses and donkeys. With a focus on veterinary care, rescue operations, shelter facilities, and responsible population management, it is anticipated to benefit around two million animals annually. Ambani stressed that every community animal deserves care, protection, and dignity.

"Every day, there are countless people who quietly care for animals in need, often with limited resources, but with immense compassion," Ambani stated. "Through Champions of Care, we hope to support those efforts, enhance care for community animals, and foster a more compassionate India."

S. P. Gupta, former Chairman and current member of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), praised Ambani’s vision and leadership during the event. He remarked on the significant advancements at animal care centers and recognized Ambani’s commitment to listening to grassroots organizations and addressing their challenges. Gupta noted, "This is a meaningful step towards a more compassionate future for community animals across India."

The two-day event in Jamnagar provided representatives with insights into advanced animal care techniques. Attendees toured Vantara's facilities for rescued elephants and big cats, showcasing high standards in veterinary medicine, nutrition, and housing. The gathering also emphasized dialogue among non-governmental organizations, culminating in a signed Letter of Understanding that formalizes a collaborative commitment to improving community animal welfare.

To ensure long-term sustainability, the initiative aims to strengthen organizational capacity and resilience. Vantara will assist partner groups with mobile veterinary services, ambulances, and necessary equipment. Plans also include upgrading shelter infrastructure for efficiency and promoting educational programs for youth related to animal welfare. The Champions of Care initiative, embodying Vantara's commitment to Every Life Matters, aims to expand its network and create a cohesive response to animal welfare across India.
