Recently, Cherished Cats rescued 14 cats from an abandoned home, including a kitten named Doug, who was discovered with both eyes sealed shut due to infection. Several of these rescued cats are now at The Scratching Post Cat Café, where they await adoption.
The organization has incurred more than $12,000 in non-routine medical expenses, with total veterinary costs approaching $48,000.
To support their efforts, a National Cat Day matching campaign will take place from October 17 through 29. Upcoming events include Kittens at the Library on October 17 and a cat-themed walking tour in Lewisburg on October 24. More information can be found at cherishedcats.org.
