With over 30 years of experience, he emphasizes the importance of a pup's early life, stating that the first 16 weeks are crucial for developing good manners. Finger conducts weekend training sessions multiple times a year, welcoming both new and experienced dog owners.
Since 2021, more than 1,000 trainees from Australia and beyond have participated in his programs. He finds it rewarding to witness their progress. His son, Scott, also plays a significant role in the school, educating participants beyond just the techniques of training dogs.
Trainer Jonty Beney, who has been learning from Finger for four years, praised his mentorship, noting that Finger encourages trainees to take initiative and learn effectively.
In recognition of his contributions to the community, the Clermont Tourism Board and Isaac Regional Council recently unveiled a mural dedicated to Finger and his late dog, Annie. The mural, located in the town center, reflects Finger's impact on the local community.
Frank believes that a genuine love for dogs is essential for effective training. "If you don’t love dogs, it doesn’t kind of work. You’ve got to like your dogs,” he asserts.
