The Humane Society of Wicomico County reports that several shelters in the Delmarva area have taken in dogs following a recent investigation in Salisbury. The local shelter is currently at capacity. Talbot Humane in Easton, Baywater Animal Rescue in Cambridge, and Doggone Happy Animal Rescue Inc. in Greenwood have welcomed some of the dogs rescued from the situation.

As of September 3, 18 dogs were safely removed from an unsafe environment on West Naylor Mill Road. The Humane Society is still searching for four additional dogs. Many of the rescued animals are Springer Spaniel mixes, which include both puppies and adult dogs.
The Humane Society of Wicomico County requests that those interested in adopting these dogs refrain from calling the shelter. They will provide updates on their website as the dogs undergo medical evaluations and become available for adoption. As of September 5, a few dogs from the seizure have been listed on the website, including Waffles, Bagel, Rotty, Calypso, and the puppy Muffin.
