Adoption fees during this event are set at $70 for dogs under seven years old and $25 for cats under that age. There is no fee for adopting dogs and cats over seven, and rabbits can be adopted for free.

UPAWS Community Outreach Coordinator Ann Brownell recommends prospective adopters read the bios of available animals beforehand. She mentioned that animals may have varying personalities, with some being more nervous while others are outgoing or relaxed. Brownell encourages potential pet owners to consider their lifestyle in choosing a pet.

All adoptions will include vaccinations, microchips, and neutering at no additional cost. If you're interested in finding out about participation from other shelters, more information can be found on the Bissell Pet Foundation’s website.
