Due to her previous owner being unable to provide proper care, Morag was surrendered to the RSPCA. In human years, she is estimated to be around 100 years old. Despite her age, Morag is surprisingly active and lively, although she recently had to have some matted fur shaved off, resulting in a slightly scruffy appearance.
Claire Wood from the RSPCA said, "We’ve looked at our records and we think that Morag is the oldest cat to have ever come into our care. She’s a real sweetheart and is enjoying all the attention that she’s getting from the staff at our rescue and rehoming centre. However, a cattery is not the ideal environment for such an elderly cat, and we hope that someone will come forward very soon to give Morag a loving forever home."
Morag is described as having an extremely loving nature but would do best in a home without young children or other pets, ideally with someone who can be around most of the time. The branch remains hopeful about finding her a suitable owner; earlier this year, they successfully placed seven elderly cats, with a combined age of 100.
