As of now, Harford County has reported 28 confirmed cases of rabies, primarily in raccoons, which marks the highest incidence in the state and matches the total number for all of 2025. Amanda Hickman, executive director of the Humane Society, emphasized the importance of current rabies vaccinations for pets, referencing state law that mandates all dogs, cats, and ferrets over four months old be vaccinated.
The clinic will provide rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats, and ferrets, with additional vaccines available for Bordetella (kennel cough) and distemper for both dogs and cats. Each vaccination will cost $15, with microchipping available for $25. Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will also be present to offer $20 nail trims.
No appointments are necessary, and the clinic is open to all community members regardless of income or residency. For safety measures, dogs must be secured on a non-retractable leash, while cats and ferrets should be transported in carriers.
