Jade Vollmer is eager to enhance her veterinary skills in an encouraging and growth-oriented environment. At Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, she values the supportive mentorship from faculty, staff, residents, and interns. This guidance is helping her build the confidence needed to deliver high-quality veterinary care.

“I believe I’m truly learning how to practice gold standard medicine and how to implement that into real-world practice,” Vollmer stated.

Upon graduation, she hopes to return to Wyoming to specialize in mixed-animal medicine, reflecting her love for treating dogs, cats, and cattle, while also integrating emergency medicine into her practice.

Vollmer’s passion for veterinary medicine has deep roots, as she has always viewed the field not merely as a career, but as a rewarding vocation. “I have never seen it as a job but a passion I genuinely find joy and fulfillment in every day,” she said. Her goal is to support pet owners and positively impact both their lives and the lives of their pets.

Outside her studies, Vollmer enjoys spending quality time with her 3-year-old son. Her hobbies include camping, paddle boarding, gardening, and reading. Living in the Palouse has also fostered her interest in bird watching, and she has become known among her classmates for sharing fresh eggs from her backyard chickens.
