Lucy, a five-year-old mixed-breed dog, is currently available for adoption at the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga (HES). Weighing approximately 75 pounds, Lucy is a blend of Poodle, Lab, Golden Retriever, Shar Pei, and Pointer. The HES staff has grown fond of her, and she currently serves as the office dog for the animal care manager.

Although Lucy can be shy initially, she is described as sweet, gentle, and submissive. According to HES, she enjoys short walks and playful moments but primarily loves to relax. Lucy also finds joy lounging in a kiddie pool. She is housebroken and prefers to be around her humans, although she can manage some time alone.
HES notes that Lucy is selective with other dogs and may thrive as the only pet in a household. She would be best suited for a home with older children or teenagers, as she appreciates a calm environment. Recently, Lucy underwent surgery to remove her left eye due to an ongoing infection, but HES reports that her recovery is going well.
If you are interested in adopting Lucy or any other Pet of the Week, you can visit the HES website, stop by the shelter at 4155 Randolph Circle, or call 423-624-5302.
