Thomas Jay, the shelter's animal behavior manager, highlighted that events like this are crucial for managing their animal population while maintaining their no-kill status. "When we start to fill up in the back, we have to move some animals in the front. Because as a no-kill organization, we don't want to go back to a time in which we might have to look at euthanasia as a potential option for freeing space. We never want that to happen again. So we come up with these sales like this," said Jay.
