Gelato was brought to the shelter in late June after being found alongside other kittens. The injury prevented him from using his back legs, prompting shelter staff to initially create a mobility device from cardboard, rulers, zip ties, and toy car wheels. An engineer later designed a more durable, 3D-printed wheelchair for him.
The shelter expressed gratitude to supporters for following Gelato’s journey and contributing to his care. The adoptive family is expected to continue his therapy and daily care in collaboration with a veterinarian.
