Currently, the shelter houses dogs ranging from two-month-old puppies to 18-year-old senior dogs, many of which are kept in areas not visible to the public due to limited space. Amy Good, Director of Development & Marketing, stated, "We have dogs of every age and personality waiting for families right now. We’re hoping a Homecoming Weekend special gives people a reason to come meet a new best friend."

In the past week, the shelter has taken in nearly 30 local dogs, in addition to the dogs rescued from overcrowded shelters in areas like Texas and Mississippi.

Through this weekend, adoption fees will be discounted by 25% for puppies up to six months old, 50% for young adult and adult dogs, and waived entirely for senior dogs. Additionally, fees will also be waived for dogs in the Lonely Hearts Club, which includes dogs that have been at the shelter for longer than average or have special needs.

Adoptions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
