February was an eventful month in the pet and veterinary sector, highlighted by the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. The event took place at the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden, where I attended as press. The festivities commenced with the DWAA Awards, uniting friends and colleagues in pet media. Congratulations to all the winners, both human and canine, during this significant milestone for Westminster.

Following the show, I headed to the Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) in Las Vegas. There, I interviewed Dr. Pease, visited various exhibit booths, and engaged in fruitful discussions with veterinary industry colleagues. The conference showcased a wealth of innovation, and I anticipate sharing detailed insights from these conversations soon.
The month concluded with Pet Dental Health Month, a topic I hold dear in veterinary medicine. I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Michael Bailey, President of the AVMA, about the role of artificial intelligence in veterinary dentistry, practical dental care advice for pet owners, and the importance of dental health in overall pet wellness. As Dr. Bailey noted, while February highlights dental care, maintaining oral health is a continuous priority.
