"We removed the cats from the home and brought them to our shelters," said Chris Schindler, director of law enforcement at MSPCA-Angell. The shelter is currently seeking foster homes, adopters, and donations to support the care of these animals.
This situation follows the alleged murder of 49-year-old Andria Hanafin by her son, 22-year-old Ryan Hanafin, who is currently in Vermont but is expected to be extradited to Massachusetts. According to authorities, the mother and son had recently argued over the numerous cats living in their residence. The town of Reading is also planning a gathering to remember Andria Hanafin.
