NHES aims to more effectively utilize its funds to better serve local animals. Executive Director Megan Hessenberger stated that maintaining a facility like BAAC involves significant expenses, including heating, air conditioning, and staffing. In light of economic challenges that have decreased donations, NHES is pursuing a strategy that allows them to continue having a substantial impact on the community while ensuring the safety and well-being of the animals.
