Completion of USU's Veterinary Medical Education Building Enhances Veterinary Training

The Thomas and Patricia Willis Veterinary Medical Education Building at Utah State University (USU) has been completed, serving as the central facility for the College of Veterinary Medicine. This state-of-the-art building will feature modern classrooms, laboratories, and clinical training areas to facilitate hands-on learning, research, and collaboration.

This initiative addresses the increasing demand for veterinarians, particularly in rural areas where access to large-animal care is limited. Utah's agricultural industry, which contributes approximately $1.82 billion to the state's economy, highlights the need for expanded veterinary training.

With the new building and the growth of its four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, USU has increased enrollment to 80 students per graduating class, aiming to develop a sustainable veterinary workforce for Utah and beyond.
