Since its opening in February 2025, Kitty Corner Social Club has aided nearly 600 cats in finding homes. The business collaborates with various shelters and rescues, providing care for adoptable cats and covering full adoption fees for these organizations.
Co-founder and owner Katy Brown expressed that the new location will enhance the club's ability to serve the community and strengthen partnerships with rescue efforts. The new site is situated across from Encounter Cafe and next to Beadology, still within the Iowa City Downtown District, which previously assisted the lounge in securing its original space and provided support through grant programs.
Visitors to the lounge can make reservations or learn more about adoptable cats. While walk-ins are welcome, reservations are encouraged for groups.
