As the city budget season commences, Financial Affairs Committee meetings are scheduled for Tuesday evenings this month to discuss the proposed 2027 budget for Wauwatosa. One of the key proposals includes enhancing police recruitment by offering $2,500 hiring bonuses to address a staffing shortage that has left the department operating at approximately 75% capacity due to vacancies and other absences.

In the lead-up to the November 3 general election, Tosa Forward News is expanding its election coverage and has begun reviewing local legislative campaigns' financial reports. In-person early voting in Wauwatosa is set to begin on October 20.

The Wauwatosa Village Business Improvement District is revitalizing its holiday offerings with a Christmas Market slated for December 2 to 6 on Harwood Avenue, following a hiatus last year due to severe flooding.
