The French military has initiated trials of robot dogs in training exercises, specifically pairing them with traditional canine units. The Vision 60, a four-legged unmanned ground robot from Ghost Robotics, was selected for these operations. This robot dog can carry various customizable payloads, making it adaptable for a variety of tasks.

In military applications, the Vision 60 is capable of detecting explosives and conducting reconnaissance for radiation, chemicals, and biological threats. During the tests, the robot successfully navigated over stairs, gratings, narrow passages, and uneven terrain.

Comparing the two types of units, the French military noted, "On the one hand, there’s a German shepherd dog from the 132nd regiment of canine infantry: trained, loyal and combat-ready. On the other hand, a robot dog. Two different profiles serving the same mission.”

Previously, the People’s Liberation Army of China also tested infantry FPV drones alongside ground combat robot dogs during their assault exercises.
