Organized by P.E.T.S., the clinic aims to enhance the accessibility of pet care in rural areas where veterinary services may be limited. This Saturday, February 28, the Electra Fire Department will serve as a temporary vaccination clinic, inviting both dogs and cats from the surrounding areas.
The clinic will offer low-cost vaccines, microchipping, heartworm testing, and medications, helping to address the affordability barriers that many pet owners face in maintaining routine care. Anibal Guevara, Executive Director of P.E.T.S. in Wichita Falls, highlighted the significance of such services in areas lacking veterinary resources, noting the importance of mobile vaccinations and parasite testing.
Since its inception in 2019, P.E.T.S. has conducted clinics throughout Electra and Iowa Park, administering over 1,500 vaccines in rural communities. The clinic at the Electra Fire Department, located at 100 E. Cleveland, will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pet owners are required to keep dogs on leashes and place cats in carriers, with complimentary carriers available upon request. Attendees are advised to arrive early due to expected high turnout.
