A cat listed for sale on Vinted has been rescued by Left Paw Cat Rescue, an animal charity based in Birmingham. The three-year-old cat was advertised for £30 on Wednesday when Abi Left, the charity’s founder, discovered the listing and decided to intervene.

Ms. Left noted that this type of rescue is not uncommon for their organization, stating that the cat is now "safe and sound" in a foster home. In response to the situation, Vinted issued a statement saying, "We absolutely do not condone this kind of behaviour," and confirmed that the listing was removed on Wednesday as soon as they were informed about it.
When collecting the cat, Ms. Left mentioned that the seller did not conduct any checks and seemed eager to hand the animal over. According to her, the seller expressed confusion about the backlash she had received for trying to sell the pet online.
Vinted emphasized that its platform is not intended for the sale of animals, and it actively removes prohibited listings through technology and member reports. Ms. Left commented that the £30 price tag reflected a lack of perceived value for the cat's life. She described the animal as "very scared" upon collection, noting that it would take some time for him to adjust to his new environment. Despite initial fears, she assured that the cat is now in safe hands.
