Jade’s Promise Dog Rescue, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been established in Plymouth, Wisconsin, aiming to assist dogs and their families across the state. Founded on October 8, 2026, the organization seeks to address the challenges that can lead to dogs being surrendered by their families or entering shelters.

The initiative developed from years of volunteer work in animal rescue, highlighting the importance of timely support for families and their pets. Jade’s Promise plans to fill this crucial gap by implementing four main areas of focus: Community Support for families experiencing temporary hardships, Surrender Support for families needing to relinquish their pets, Thoughtful Adoption to create enduring matches between dogs and families, and Shelter Intervention to assist neglected shelter dogs.

A core belief of Jade’s Promise is that rescue efforts can begin prior to a dog losing its home, emphasizing the need to support families first.

Currently, the organization is working on establishing its infrastructure, particularly through the creation of a foster network. This foster-based model means that each additional foster home enhances their capacity to help more dogs in Wisconsin. No prior experience in rescue is required for potential foster families; the organization is committed to pairing dogs with families that suit their environment and comfort levels while providing ongoing support.

Jade’s Promise is taking a cautious approach to its rollout, seeking foster homes, funding, veterinary partnerships, and robust support systems to ensure they can fulfill their promises to dogs and families effectively.

The community is invited to celebrate the launch of Jade’s Promise during a special event at Camp Y-Koda’s Johnsonville Lodge on Saturday, November 7, from 1–5 p.m. The free event will include activities such as a bonfire, s’mores, hot chocolate, mini photo sessions, custom dog collars and tags, and various children's activities.
