Following the rescue, the dog was handed over to the Société Protectrice des Animaux (SPA), the French equivalent of the RSPCA, and was later examined by a veterinarian in Calais.
The Malo Firefighters' Association praised the teamwork and professionalism displayed during the rescue in a Facebook post, noting that their swift response was crucial in saving the dog's life. The community hopes for a speedy recovery for the brave animal.
