She noted the excitement surrounding trout heads, emphasizing their quality, sustainability, and appeal in stores. Schmitt highlighted the importance of nose-to-tail nutrition and the choice to partner with a source certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, which supports their commitment to sustainability.
The trout heads are sourced from a freeze-dry facility called Fraction in Buhl, Idaho, in collaboration with Riverence, the largest trout producer in the U.S. Founded by Emmy-winning writer David E. Kelley, Riverence aims to promote a sustainable approach to fish farming. The trout are raised in free-flowing spring water and ASC-certified land-based raceways along Idaho’s Snake River, providing a reliable and verified sourcing story for Momentum.
These whole-prey chews are designed with sustainability in mind, helping to reduce reliance on wild ocean fish populations. They offer an alternative to wild-caught fish prone to contamination from microplastics and mercury found in ocean environments.
