The workshops aim to equip animal welfare professionals, volunteers, foster families, and community members with lifesaving techniques for helping vulnerable felines. Topics covered will include kitten rescue, community cats, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and fostering.
Hannah Shaw is an acclaimed kitten rescuer, educator, and New York Times best-selling author, recognized for her advocacy and educational efforts regarding kitten welfare. Attendees will have the chance to learn effective strategies that can make a difference for cats and kittens in need.
The schedule for the workshops on July 25 includes:
- 10 a.m.-noon: Community Cats presentation – This session will focus on humane strategies for assisting community cats, the fundamentals of TNR, and the impact of community cat programs in reducing kitten suffering.
- 1-3 p.m.: Saving Kittens – This workshop will cover topics such as kitten rescue, fostering techniques, and the significant role foster caregivers play in saving lives.
Shaw operates the Kitten Lady platform, providing educational resources to individuals and animal shelters nationwide. She is also the founder of Orphan Kitten Club, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing kitten welfare, which has allocated over $4 million in grants to shelters and saved more than 250,000 kittens since its inception in 2016.
Tickets are priced at $20 for one workshop or $35 for both. A limited number of VIP tickets that include both sessions and a meet-and-greet with Shaw are available for $150.
