NOCO Humane has rescued 108 cats following three significant intake events and is seeking community support. In mid-August, 46 cats were taken in from a single residence after the owner's death at their Larimer Campus in Loveland. Additionally, that same week, 42 more cats were rescued from a suspected hoarding situation. Shortly after these cases, 20 more cats were surrendered to the Weld Campus.

Cynthia Setel, CEO of NOCO Humane, emphasized the challenge of caring for such a large number of animals in a short period. She stated, "Taking in 108 cats in just five weeks is an extraordinary undertaking, but these are exactly the moments when our community needs us to be ready to respond. Providing veterinary care, behavioral support, foster care, and safe shelter for these animals requires significant resources, and the financial support of our community makes that response possible."
Many of the rescued cats have already been adopted, while others remain available for adoption, in foster homes, or receiving medical treatment. Some had to be euthanized due to quality of life concerns. NOCO Humane is urging residents who may need assistance caring for animals to seek help early. The organization is requesting community donations to help cover the costs of care for these and other animals in need. Donations can be made at nocohumane.org.
