This initiative is part of a nationwide campaign by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, which is inspired by school homecoming celebrations and aims to assist shelter animals in finding new homes. Hill’s is providing up to $100,000 to cover adoption fees at participating shelters around the country.
Adopters will also receive a New Pet Parent Kit from Hill’s, which includes a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet, coupons, and post-adoption information. FWACC Director Amy-Jo Sites stated that this partnership will help find homes for larger dogs, which typically take longer to be adopted.
Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and animals cannot be held. Families with existing dogs are encouraged to bring them along when selecting a potential new pet. More information on adoptable animals and the adoption process can be found at fwacc.org.
