Upon arrival, first responders were unable to reach anyone inside the home and subsequently forced entry. They found both an older man and an older woman dead, along with their cat. The residence was cordoned off with yellow police tape as investigators, wearing masks and protective gear, examined the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed evidence of a significant fire within the home. Authorities have stated that while the incident is not considered suspicious at this time, the causes of the deaths and the fire are still under investigation. The Attleboro Police and Fire Departments, along with State Police fire investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and detectives from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, are conducting the inquiries. As a result of the investigation, Andover Avenue and nearby Slade Avenue were closed.
