Rochester Animal Services to Waive Adoption Fees on October 11

Rochester, N.Y. — On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Rochester Animal Services will waive adoption fees for all dogs and cats during a special event from noon to 4 p.m. at the Verona Street animal shelter. While the adoption fees will be waived, a $10 licensing fee for dogs will still apply.

Currently, 38 animals are awaiting adoption, including 22 housed at the shelter and 16 in foster care, with 16 dogs and six cats available for immediate adoption on-site. The event aims to help these animals find new homes.

Adoptions on Sunday will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
