This year's distribution includes $19,500 earmarked for active Police K9 Units, which will help cover training, medical care, equipment, and daily necessities for working K9 teams. These dogs play a crucial role in ensuring public safety with their specialized skills.
Dog rescue organizations will receive $23,000 to assist with veterinary care, shelter, and adoption services. These groups often operate with limited budgets and greatly depend on community support to continue their vital missions.
Additionally, a donation of $5,000 will go to the Friends of Frankenmuth Police, funding local projects that enhance safety and foster stronger relationships between residents and law enforcement.
Michael Keller Zehnder, President of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Chairman of Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, Inc., expressed excitement over the record donations, emphasizing the community's collaborative effort in supporting dogs and their well-being.
The annual event takes place at Frankenmuth River Place Shops, and in 2027, the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
