First Responders Credit Union to Host Family Fun Day for Working Dogs

First Responders Credit Union will host a Firehouse Comfort Dog Family Fun Day on Wednesday, October 7, from 12 PM to 4 PM at 60 Hallet Street in Dorchester. This event aims to raise awareness and funds for firehouse dogs, police K9s, and comfort dogs that assist first responders.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with working dogs from Firehouse Dogs, hear a reading of "Millie the Brave" by author Danielle O’Hearn, a Somerville firefighter, and meet Paw Patrol characters Marshall and Chase. The Boston Fire Department Education Unit will provide fire trucks and educational activities. Danielle Milner, President & CEO of First Responders Credit Union, will also be present.

The funds raised will benefit Firehouse Dogs, a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious food and covers medical expenses for these working canines, including Millie, a comfort dog. The event is planned for outdoors but will move indoors to Florian Hall at 55 Hallet Street if the weather is unfavorable.
