Bob is remembered for his love, faith, and compassion. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, their children, grandchildren, and extended family, who cherish the many memories they created together.

Bob's grandparents immigrated from Wales to the United States in 1910. His grandfather served as a Presbyterian minister for Welsh coal miners in Scranton, establishing a legacy of faith that influenced Bob throughout his life.

From a young age, Bob had a passion for animals. As a boy, he had a paper route accompanied by his loyal dog. He and his best friend, Bob Cetta, often found themselves in mischief, including hitchhiking to New York City at the age of twelve.

Growing up during the Depression, Bob developed a strong work ethic, taking various jobs to support his family after his father's passing. He graduated from Central High School in Scranton in 1950 and later served in the United States Marine Corps before attending Keystone Junior College. It was during this time that he discovered his calling in veterinary medicine after reading *The Circus Doctor*.

He continued his education at Penn State University and then attended the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated in 1959. He married Mary Cunningham and returned to Clinton County, welcoming three children: Debbie, Nancy, and Robert Jr.

Bob began his veterinary career working for Dr. Fretz before establishing his own practice in Dunnstown in 1960. In those early days, surgeries were often performed on the kitchen table, with animals awaiting care throughout his home.

Bob fell in love with the Lock Haven area during his travels while studying at Penn State and moved his family to a farm on Island Road in 1969. This farm became a cherished gathering place for family and friends, set against the scenic backdrop of the mountains and the Susquehanna River.

Throughout his career, Dr. Reese cared for a diverse range of animals, earning the affectionate title of “Doc” in the community. He built strong relationships with local farmers and families, knowing the history of many farms and their animals.

As veterinary practices evolved, Bob adapted to changing times and built Susque Valley Animal Hospital, the first veterinary hospital in Clinton County, in 1974. He remained dedicated to both small and large animals throughout his career.

Bob met Sandy Young in 1977, and they married in 1983, working together at Susque Valley Animal Hospital and sharing a love for animals. They rehabilitated numerous wild creatures together and spent joyful moments teaching their grandchildren about animal care.

In 1990, Bob graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined his father’s practice in 1992. His commitment extended beyond veterinary care; he valued the relationships he built with clients and the families he served.

Practicing until the age of 87, Bob's career spanned over six decades, marked by compassion and dedication to animal care. He derived immense pride from his family, fostering a love for education and celebrating their accomplishments.

A patriot at heart, Bob instilled values of hard work, sacrifice, and gratitude in his family. Known for his generosity, humor, and kindness, he was a selfless individual who always lent a helping hand.

Bob's deep faith guided him through life, and he often expressed that his greatest achievement was ensuring his children knew Jesus. His family finds comfort in the belief that he is now in heaven, united with the animals he cherished.

Bob is survived by Sandy Reese, his children Debbie, Nancy Johnson (Kevin), and Bob Reese (Jacquie), alongside ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Brad Young and sister-in-law Sharon Foley, along with their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

A celebration of Dr. Reese's life will take place on Saturday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Avis, PA, with a gathering for family and friends starting at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are handled by Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services.
