Gelato arrived at the shelter in late June after being found with other kittens. Due to his spinal injury, he was unable to use his back legs. Initially, the staff created a mobility device using cardboard, rulers, zip ties, and toy car wheels. Later, an engineer provided a more durable, 3D-printed wheelchair.
The shelter indicated that Gelato’s new family will need to maintain ongoing veterinary care for his therapy and daily needs.
